Water connects us with the world around us and with our aquatic origins. Perhaps the story of expulsion from the Garden of Eden is a dim memory of human migration from a wetland paradise and watery lifestyle to harsher conditions.
In Persian lore, paradise was an enclosed garden containing flowing water and outside lay a burned landscape: water was the divine gift.
Water is also associated with the creative unconscious, the depths of human psyche, in many mythologies. Practicing (and receiving) the art of aquatic bodywork, is one way to transport ourselves back to this forgotten memory of peaceful sacred space. Together we float beyond conscious everyday reality and back again: between these two places is the spirit pool, a portal to dreamtime.
A warm-water pool can be a sanctuary and the setting for a journey of boundless possibility. Supported in my arms and by the water, you may enter a magical inner world of creativity. The boundaries between us and the outside world dissolve. Life seems more oceanic than our individual concerns - ebbing and flowing eternally.
